THRIVING FAMILIES PROGRAM BEGINS IN WAYNE COUNTY
Free services empower young adults for healthy relationships
(August 9, 2016 – Newark, NY) Catholic Charities of Wayne Country is launching Thriving Families
Program (TFP) to provide strategies for making the transition into adulthood a success. The program
is free of charge and is designed for ages 18-24. Program staff will be onsite in the Floral Hall at
Wayne County Fair, (Jackson Street, Palmyra New York) beginning August 14 through August 21. The
mission of TFP is to empower young adults to be their best selves through healthy relationships with
all the people in their lives.
“The demands on young adults can overwhelming and sometimes confusing,” says Inga Rojas,
Director of Clinical Services, “TFP is a lively, fun, non-judgmental way to help young adults strengthen
relationships and gain a deeper understanding of themselves. The program is completely free and led
by licensed therapists who foster discussion and freedom of self-expression.”
The program will reach young adults in a variety of ways:
- Relationship Wellness is easily accessible and offered throughout the county at community
locations. It helps with the realities of being out of school and on one’s own as a young
adult. - Living a Balanced Life is offered at workplaces throughout Wayne County and helps young
adults who are in the workforce create healthy relationships at work, home, and with friends. - How to Adult is based in county schools and provides strategies, and tips for high school
seniors to help them navigate the demands of adulthood and the relationships that come
with this new phase of life.
